Game modification is defined as the creation and addition of custom-created content into published games by players. Though game modification is a phenomenon often researched in game studies, there is little that goes in-depth about a player's experience when interacting with modded content. Using Crawford et. Al's definition of experience, this interactive website not only aims to define the various experiences players who use mods go through, it also seeks to inform audiences of the reasons as to why players use modded content.

Sims 4 players, dissatisfied by the developer's simulation of reality, turn to mods to make the game more realistic.
